Let the fundraising begin…
Almost two weeks since I started my blog and, although confined to my house because of whooping cough, thanks to the generosity of a number of people I’ve been able to start fundraising – even if I haven’t begun training yet!
The first fundraising event that took place was the sale of my Mum’s delicious curry puffs to family and friends. We were able to sell 240 of these at £10 for 20 – meaning my mum was in the kitchen all weekend, but this was worth it for the £120 that was raised!
A surprise donation came last night after my Auntie’s Jamie at Home party, from Elizabeth, the consultant, who, after hearing about our challenge kindly offered to donate 10% of the sales raised on the night to my chosen charity! This meant that after everyone had had a good spend I was given £35 for Rays of Sunshine!
If you would like to host a Jamie at Home party get in touch with me and I’ll pass your details onto Elizabeth! Alternatively if you’d like to come to my Mum’s Jamie at Home party on the 11 November, or if you can’t make it but would like to look at the catalogue just let me know. Anything you can do to help me reach my target of £3,000 for Rays of Sunshine will be FANTASTIC! My cousin Chloe lives in Birmingham so can’t make it to the party, but she and her friends have given mum their orders from the catalogue…the more orders we get the better because mum is donating all the commission she would have earned from sales to Rays of Sunshine.
A lot of family and friends have also been kind enough to give me early sponsorship for the climb as well – (Thank you Nan and Granddad, Mum and Dad, Auntie Trish and Uncle Phil, Chloe and John Sheron!) – Your generosity equals £471.30. I’m really grateful, thank you so much!
Wow! This gives me with the grand total so far of… £626.30
Thank you everyone who has been generous enough to sponsor me so far! If you haven’t yet and would like to… or would like to sponsor me again (!) please visit http://thekiliklimbers.weebly.com/sophia.html!
Training starts next week! (I hope…)
